Blog Revival- Good Quality Photos

Hi Everyone- today, as I was sitting in a local and busy, Tim Hortons, I was reminded of the trip and realized that I haven't updated any photos on here since getting home. There are a lot of photos on some days and not so many on others- this has nothing to do with the scenery, but rather more to do with the time that I had to actually get the camera out/take photos, either way, enjoy :).

Update 2023: Slideshows have been disabled on here, so you'll have to link out to the full photos. Days 3-6 have the most photos...
If you click on the photos in any of the slideshows it will take you directly to my picasaweb page (I am working on integrating them all into one SS). Also, probably going to turn this into some type of personal blog too to document some cool journeys here and there.

Thanks again to everyone!!!

Day 8- done!

And it's done! After an off day yesterday and some much needed time with Moose (and a black eye from him haha) it's now come to the time to unpack.

It's been quite the amazing journey and there are so many thanks that are due. I'll save those for when I have a keyboard in front of me- but wow it feels great, granted I stilllll have the far western tip of the lake to complete but until then I've officially ridden around the lake*! Haha

Thanks everyone!!!

Day 7

So I was very fortunate to have the opportunity to meet James at the coffee shop and he graciously allowed me to pitch a tent at the farm where he was living. So I woke up to a great sunrise and also a few birds.

After receiving a send off I made my way towards Port Colborne and stopped in a great cafe there to recharge and of course converse with a bunch of folks.

Made my way over to the canal where I was fortunate I see a ship going through.

And of course the scaling selfie.
Lol super creepy smile.

I got onto a trail system and it goes straight to Fort Erie and got surprised by this amazing view.
Buffalo.

So after some walking and confusion I made it to duty free and lol walked down to the Peace Bridge and then across it.

Woo! America!
Not the greatest photo but pretty sure Homeland Security isn't too privy to photos on a crossing.

So rode into the night and got back to Fredonia about 930 now only fifty miles to go :D. Until then.

Day 6 evening

So Ron was talking about the wind last night and said that when it comes from n ne it does so usually for three days- he wasn't wrong lol.

It's been about 150 mile into the wind and let me tell ya it really wears ya out (but helps with the leg muscles lol).

I had a good stop at the running/bike shop in Port Dover and after some time there I gathered my stuff and continued on to we're I'm at now-Dunnville.

I feel like I'm taking it too easy lol these past couple days I've been cycling to at least 8. Hmm. Maybe I'll throw some casual miles on? Or kilometers, eh?

Go habs go! Gah, I take that back. Allons-y habs! Ha I think that's right.

Thinking about pushing to home tomorrow granted at this point it's closer to float lol

Day 6

So today left beautiful Turkey Point after learning a bit about it from Sheila and Ron as well as the surrounding area. These two were absolutely amazing host and it's really hard to stick to the schedule- I'm seeing such amazing places.

I'm currently sitting in Port Dover and loving life sponsored by Tim Hortons haha-back on the road.

Thanks again Jess, Sheila, and Ron!! I'll be back in the area sooner than later.

End day 5

So I seem to take stops in the worst places lol. As soon as I left town I was fighting wind for the next thirty some miles but it was still rewarding.

Lots of wind turbines and wind to go with it. Riding the back roads there are a ton of asparagus farms as well as tobacco farms-despite the difference in crops it really is starting to remind me of home.

I ended up getting to my hosts house about 845 and they were making dinner so it was a much appreciated and much needed. After watching the end of the hockey game I was out for the count haha

Day 5 mid day

So today I woke up at seven and felt surprisingly good haha. I'll elaborate more when I have a keyboard but I'll just put it out there that both Margaret and Bob are amazing folks.

I puttered around town for the morning and saw some great sights. Port Stanley really is a great place.

View from the balcony.

Fishing boats going inland.

After speaking with another Warmshowers host I stopped by another's coffee shop and just took it easy.

Got back to Margaret and Bob's and after a short chat and a photo I was on my way. A decent sized hill on the way out of town greeted me and from that point it's been slow but smooth riding.

The wind turbines are back, and got some cool photos and got to pace a car through a construction zone lol fun stuff.

Old farm meet new farm.

Ooookay I should probably be on my way I've been in this town for like two hours lol. Off to Turkey Point.

Lol how's that for a location.
